No of people who have been tested positive with the new variant of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 has been reached to 96 in India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare cleared it today. This no was 90 till Saturday. All these people were kept in single room isolation by the concerned state government. Their close contacts are also kept in quarantine and a comprehensive contact tracing exercise is on the fast track by the government. The situation is being monitored and a regular advice is being given to states for enhanced surveillance, containment, testing and dispatch of samples to INSACOG laboratories.
Other than India, the presence of new variant of coronavirus has been reported by several countries including Denmark, Australia, Sweden, Singapore and many more.
