New Delhi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on DRDO Day lauded the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the decisive role played by its indigenously developed weapons during Operation Sindoor, stating that it stands as a strong testament to DRDO’s unwavering commitment towards safeguarding India’s national interests.
The Defence Minister visited the DRDO Headquarters in New Delhi and interacted with scientists and officials, urging the organisation to continue focusing on innovation, cutting-edge research and future-ready defence technologies.
Expressing confidence in DRDO’s capabilities, Rajnath Singh said the organisation would soon achieve the creation of “Sudarshan Chakra”, a next-generation integrated air defence system envisioned to significantly strengthen India’s security architecture.
He emphasised that India’s defence preparedness increasingly relies on self-reliance, indigenous innovation and technological excellence, and DRDO has emerged as a key pillar in achieving these national objectives.
The Defence Minister encouraged DRDO to further enhance collaboration with industry, start-ups and academia to accelerate the development of advanced defence solutions and ensure that India remains ahead in the evolving security landscape.
