◦ Subversion of people by fiddling with their dignity through different pension schemes – A Social and Political Subversion.
The Govt speaks double mouthed statements at different locations to justify their own politically corrupt decisions as far as pension to Government employees and its own MPs / MLAs is concerned. This is the most autocratic style of functioning and no political party ,whatsoever it’s background, either so called social or otherwise chooses to be a deceitful part of the Govt. as hands in gloves. The analogy given by the Attorney General to Hon’ble Supreme Court ,while defending the Govt. on pension to MPs is laughable and a slap on the face of common public. It was stated as follows. “The Centre told the Supreme Court that the entitlement of former Member of Parliament (MPs) to get pension and other benefits was “justified” as their dignity has to be maintained even after they complete their tenure as parliamentarians.”
It’s was further justified by saying “MPs have to go for elections every five years. They have to go to their constituencies and travel. So giving pension to them is justified,” Attorney General KK Venugopal told a SC bench.
Isn’t it strange that in a country where people elect their representatives from amongst themselves, these representatives needs money even after their retirement to maintain dignity. In other words does the Govt. want to say that it’s own Govt. servants have no dignity to be maintained after their superannuation? To top it all, the Govt even does not want to give pension to its valiant solders on whose shoulders the responsibility of defending our tenacious borders lies, isn’t it a shameful analogy? Is their any social justice with these heroes of our country. If the Govt asserts that the new policy of NPS is so good and people friendly , then why it is not implemented for MPs and MLAs besides others as well? Why different criteria is justified for different people? Does the Government wants to say that Common Man has no dignity? Which is of course the reverse. Hence time has come for all of us to rise above the political affiliations and choose those representatives who vouch to fight for the cause of social justice and either to restore the pension system or to switch over to new system for one and all , to restore public dignity at all levels.
