Cyclone Nisarga LIVE status update: Cyclone intensifies as wind speeds touch 110 kmph; now 215 km from Mumbai: Cyclone Nisarga is approaching North Maharashtra coast with a speed of 110 km per hour. According to the latest update by about 8.30 am, it is about 165 km south-southwest of Alibag and 215 km south-southwest of Mumbai, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its latest bulletin.
An intensified cyclone, now with an eye diameter of 65 km will hit Maharashtra, south Gujarat coast between Harihareshwar and Daman, close to Alibagh by noon. PM Narendra Modi, on Tuesday, reviewed the preparations to deal with the calamity.
