Kaushlendra Pandey / New Delhi. The Hon. Education Minister of Bihar Mithilesh Tiwari today called on Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi for a courtesy meeting. During this significant interaction, Shri Tiwari comprehensively apprised the Union Minister of the unprecedented innovations and ambitious initiatives being undertaken by the Bihar Government in the field of education.
Under the 7 Nishchay -3 (2025–30) of the Bihar Government, anchored by the vision of “Unnat Shicsha- Ujjawal Bhavishy”, a landmark decision has been taken to transform the educational landscape of the state. The state government has decided that all district schools along with one higher secondary school in each block — totalling 540 schools — will be developed as Saraswati Vidya Niketan (Model Schools). In addition to this, 155 existing government and government-aided schools will also be upgraded under the same initiative. Taken together, a total of 695 schools across the Bihar will be transformed into model school, marking the beginning of a new revolution in the state’s education system.
On this occasion, Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari stated that it is the unwavering commitment of the Bihar Government to ensure that every child in the state receives quality education. Saraswati Vidya Niketan, he said, will prove to be a milestone in this endeavour, and under the leadership of the honourable Chief Minister, the state government is steadfastly moving towards making Bihar a model state for education in the country.
Shri Tiwari also informed the Union Minister that the state government is actively working on a multi-dimensional programme for the modernisation of education. Under vocational education, laboratories will be established in a total of 1,068 schools — selecting two schools per block — for students from Classes 9th to 12th. In the same vein, a total of 2,577 ICT Labs are proposed to be installed and operationalised across the state, with the aim of bringing digital education to the grassroots level. Furthermore, 25,220 Smart Classrooms will be set up and made functional in schools across Bihar, ensuring technology-enabled teaching for students.
Bihar Government’s initiative is entirely in alignment with the spirit of the National Education Policy 2020.
The Saraswati Vidya Niketan scheme not only addresses the physical upgradation of schools but also places equal emphasis on the quality of teaching, digital integration, and skill development. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan appreciated Bihar Government’s initiatives and assured full support and cooperation from the Central Government.
